Carrie Kaili Sun (b. 1996) has never been sure of what to call herself, exactly.

She works in creative technology, sometimes in AR/VR, sometimes in experiential, mostly in Unreal Engine trying to grapple with virtual presence and image. Having been a part of the Lil Miquela team from 2018-2022 she found herself thrust into the world of realtime rendering, game engines and simulations in a grand fever dream impassioned with the exploration of celebrity, voice & presence, and parasocial relations. Her specialty is creating technical and design-oriented solutions for problems that haven’t quite been solved yet.

As a sometimes DJ, you can find her sonic project, Bodywork, on NTS Radio. With a motto of “Applying pressure where it’s needed in order to release,” she questions and emphasizes the social and psychosomatic conditions that dance music and raving alleviates. You can sometimes find her playing at such venues and parties such as Mood Ring, Papi Juice, Boiler Room, and the occasional warehouse.
